New Delhi, Mar 1: Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Thursday said the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) lost the by-polls in Kolaras and Mungaoli constituencies in Madhya Pradesh due to its arrogance and misgovernance. In a tweet, Gandhi said that the victories in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan indicates the upcoming change. The grand old party has registered in Ajmer and Alwar bypolls earlier this year. “Madhya Pradesh ki jaagruk janta, matdataon aur Congress karyakartaaon ko Kolaras, Mungaoli ki shanddar jeet ki badhaai. Yah ahankar tatha kushasan ki haar aur umeed ki jeet hai. Pahle Rajsthan aur ab Madhya Pradesh ne saabit kiya ki badlaav ki aahat dastak de rahi hai (Congratulations to aware residents of Madhya Pradesh, voters and Congress volunteers for a masive win in Kolaras and Mungaoli. In Kolaras, Congress party’s Mahendra Singh Yadav defeated BJP’s Devendra Jain by a hefty margin of over 8,000 votes. The Congress candidate got 82, 515 votes, the BJP got 74,432 votes. In Mungaoli, Congress party’s Brijendra Singh Yadav defeated Bai Sahab Yadav of the Bharatiya Janata Party. The Congress candidate got 70,808 votes, whereas the BJP candidate got 68,684 votes.
Congress leader Jyotiraditya Scindia called the win “victory of truth and development.” He said people of the state have made up their mind to send the BJP packing.
