Madhya Pradesh CM Kamal Nath Allots Portfolios to His Cabinet; Gives  Home to Bala Bachchan, Finance to Bhanot Tarun

Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath kept portfolios including public relations, industrial policy, investment promotion, science and technology, non-resident Indian department among others with himself while allocating portfolios to his ministers on Friday evening.

Nath expanded his cabinet last evening. While Jitu Patwari has been given the charge of Sports and Youth Welfare and Higher Education, Jaivardhan Singh has been given Urban Administration and Housing. As per public relations department officials, Tribal lawmaker Bala Bachchan– the minister in the previous Digvijay Singh-led Congress government, has been given Home and Jail, while another senior lawmaker, Tulsi Silawat, has been given the charge of Health.

Govind Rajput has been allocated Revenue and Transport department, while Tarun Bhanot has been given the Finance department. Meanwhile, Vijaylaxmi Sadho has been Culture and Medical Education department. Hukum Singh Karada, who was also a minister in the previous Congress government, has been allocated Water Resources Development. Dr Govind Singh, a former senior minister has been given Cooperatives and Parliamentary Affairs.

Sajjan Singh Verma, who was Urban Administration Minister in Digvijay Singh government, has got the Public Works Department in Kamal Nath’s cabinet, the official said. Arif Aqueel, the lone Muslim minister, got Minorities and Other Backward Class Welfare and Bhopal Gas Relief and Rehabilitation.

Jaivardhan Singh, Congress leader Digvijay Singh’s son, has been given Urban Administration Department. He also happens to be the youngest leader in Nath’s cabinet. Meanwhile, Sachin Yadav, younger brother of former state Congress chief and ex-Union minister Arun Yadav, was given the Agriculture and Food Processing Department.

Imarati Devi has been given the Women and Child Department while Pradeep Jaiswal, lone independent MLA in the cabinet, has been given Mining.

Umang Singhar has been given the charge of Forest Department. Brijendra Singh Rathore got Commercial Tax, Lakhan Singh Yadav Animal Husbandry, Omkar Markam Scheduled Tribes Welfare, Sukhdeo Panse Public Health Engineering, Harsh Yadav New and Renewable Energy and Cottage and Village Industries, Kamleshwar Patel Panchayat and Rural Development, Lakhan Ghanghoriya Social Justice and Scheduled Caste Welfare.

PC Sharma was given Law and Legislative Affairs, Surendra Singh Baghel Narmada Valley Development and Tourism Department, Pradyumn Singh Tomar Food and Civil Supplies, Mahendra Singh Sisodiya Labour Department and Priyavrat Singh Energy Department, the official said.

Nath expanded his cabinet on December 25 by inducing 28 ministers. It must be noted that a five-day session of the newly-elected Assembly is slated to begin from January 7.
