New Delhi: A day after the government was formed in the state, Congress leader Kamal Nath on Tuesday met new chief minister and his successor Shivraj Singh Chouhan and assured him of the opposition party’s support for the state’s development. The development comes a day after Chouhan took oath as chief minister of the state. Prior to this, he was elected as the leader of the state BJP legislative party in the evening. Replying to a question on why the Congress skipped the Assembly session in which Chouhan won a trust vote, Kamal Nath said he did not have any information about the session in the assembly. “The trust vote was a formality which needed to be completed,” he added further.

Kamal Nath had last week resigned as CM of the state after 22 Congress MLAs quit the House, reducing his government to a minority.
