Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Education Minister Kunwar Vijay Shah while addressing a gathering of teachers and their kin on the occasion of Teacher’s Day in the city, made quite a remark which raised eyebrows. Shah, apparently mocking the transgenders on Wednesday said, “Agar Guru ke samman mein apne taaliyan nahi bajayi to agle janam mein ghar ghar ja kar taaliyan bajani padengi.” Following this controversial remark, everyone present at the event started clapping to which the state Education Minister responded, “Iska matlab koi bhi ghar ghar jaakar taaliyan nahi bajana chahta.”
More than 500 teachers from across the state who had to be honoured on Teacher’s Day were called at the Shahpura Auditorium in Bhopal today. The principal of Hamidia School, Vandana Mishra was honoured with state-level teacher’s honour today. On the other hand, Anil Bhargava, a teacher at the Guna Government College Market Shell was honoured for proving his mettle in the field of education. Governor Anandiben Patel, Deepak Joshi, Minister of Higher Education, Lal Singh, among others, Madhya Pradesh School Education Department Secretary Dipti Gaud Mukherjee Arya were present at the event.
The other teachers who were honoured on Teacher’s Day were Alirajpur Chhakrala’s assistant teacher Chittu Bamania, Anjali Singh from Anuppur Bhadra, Balaghat Penderai’s assistant teacher Anjali Awatkar, Bhind Cattenji No., Principal Satyanarayana Chaturvedi, Chhindwada Treasurer Shah Abhilasha Bhangar, Ramswar Chaurasia from Damoh Navghat, Datia Urdana Sha. Ma. School’s Bhanupratap Goswami, Dewas’ Subhash Chaudhary, Dhar Sulawat’s Indra Singh Rathore, Gwalior Murar’s Dr Dipti Gaur, Harda Timmani’s Durgeshandan Vyas, Indore Bal Vinay Mandar’s Principal Vijaya Sharma, Jabalpur Lakhram’s Assistant Professor Sudha Upadhyay and Lecturer Lokendra Singh Chauhan from Jhabua.
