Counting of votes for the Madhya Pradesh Assembly election 2018 has begun and first trends are expected to pour in an hour or so. A single phase election for the Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly took place on November 28, 2018 amidst heavy security. The major national parties which contested the elections were Indian National Congress (INC) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Alirajpur: Alirajpur Vidhan Sabha seat is reserved for Scheduled Tribes (ST) candidates. Indian National Congress’ Mukesh Rawat has won the proceedings in this constituency with a margin in excess of 17,900.
In 2013, BJP’s Nagarsingh Chouhan had defeated Congress’ Sena Mahesh Patel by a margin of 17,000 votes. For the 2018 Assembly elections, BJP has retained Chouhan while the Congress has fielded Mukesh Rawat.

Jobat: This constituency is reserved for Scheduled Tribes (ST) candidates. In 2013 Assemble elections, BJP’s Madhav Singh Dabar had defeated Congress’s Vishal Rawat by a margin of 11,000 votes. For 2018 polls, BJP has fielded Madhav Singh Dabar and Congress has fielded Kalawati Bhuria.

Jhabua: In 2013 Assembly polls, BJP’s Shantilal Bilwal had defeated Congress’ Jeviyar Meda. For 2018 polls, BJP has fielded GS Damor and Congress has nominated Vikrant Bhuriya.

Thandla: This seat is reserved for Scheduled Tribes (ST) candidates. In 2013 Assembly polls, Independent candidate Kalsingh Bhabhar had defeated Congress’ Gendal Damor by a margin of 5,100 votes. For 2018 elections, BJP has fielded Khalsingh Bhabar while Congress has nominated Veer Singh Bhuria.

Petlawad: In 2013 Assembly polls, BJP’s Nirmala Bhuriya defeated Congress’ Valsingh Maida by a margin of 17,000 votes. For 2018 polls, BJP has fielded Nirmala Bhuriya and Congress has fielded Valsingh Maida

Ratlam Rural: Ratlam Rural is reserved for Scheduled Tribes (ST) candidates. In 2013 polls, BJP’s Mathuralal Dabar had defeated Congress’ Laxmi Devi Kharadi by a margin of 26,000 votes. For 2018 polls, BJP has fielded Dilip Makwana and Congress has nominated Laxman Singh Dindor.

Ratlam City: In 2013 Assembly polls, BJP’s Chetanya Kumar Kashyap had defeated Congress’s Adity Dawesar by a margin of 40,000 votes. For 2018 elections, the BJP has retained Kashyap and Congress has nominated Premlata Dave.

Sailana: In 2013 election, the seat was won by BJP’s Sangita Charel by a margin of 2079 votes against Congress’ Guddu Harshvijay Gehlot. For 2018 polls, BJP has Narayan Maida and Congress has nominated Harsh Vijay Gehlot aka Guddu.
