Counting of votes for the Madhya Pradesh Assembly election 2018 has begun and first trends are expected to pour in an hour or so. A single phase election for the Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly took place on November 28, 2018 amidst heavy security. The major national parties which contested the elections were Indian National Congress (INC) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Jaora: Jaora Vidhan Sabha is located in Ratlam district of Madhya Pradesh and comes under the Mandsour Lok Sabha constituency. BJP’s Rajendra Pandey had defeated Congress’ Kadpa Mo.Yusuf. Pandey had garnered 89656 votes while Congress candidate had bagged 59805 votes. For 2018 polls, BJP has retained Pandey and Congress has fielded KK Sing Kalukheda.

Mandsour: Mandsour Vidhan Sabha (224) is located in Mandsaur district of Madhya Pradesh and comes under the Mandsour Lok Sabha constituency. BJP’s Yashpal Singh Sisodiya is the present MLA of Mandsour Vidhan Sabha seat. In 2013, Sisodiya had beaten Congress candidate Mahendra Singh Gurjar by around 24,295 votes. For 2018 polls, BJP has retained Sisodiya while Congress has fielded Narendra Nahata.

Malhargarh: This seat is reserved for Scheduled Caste (SC) candidates. The Vidhan Sabha seat is located in Mandsaur district of Madhya Pradesh and comes under the Mandsour Lok Sabha constituency. In 2013, the seat was won by BJP’s Jagadish Dewra. He had defeated Congress’ Shyamlal Jokchand. For 2018 polls, BJP has retained Dewra and Congress has fielded Parsuram Sisodiya.

Suwasra: Suwasra Vidhan Sabha (226) is located in Mandsaur district of Madhya Pradesh and comes under the Mandsour Lok Sabha constituency. Hardeep Singh Dung (INC) is the present MLA of Suwasra Legislative Assembly. For 2018 polls, BJP has fielded Radheshyam Patidar and Congress has fielded Hardeep Singh Dung.
Garoth: In 2013 Assembly polls, BJP’s Rajesh Yadav Dharmveer Singh had defeated Congress’ Subhash Kumar Sojatia The BJP candidate had garnered 88525 votes while the Congress candidate had bagged 62770 votes. For 2018 polls, BJP has fielded Devilal Dhakad and Congress has fielded Subhash Kumar Sujatia.

Manasa: In 2013 Assembly polls, BJP’s Kailash Chawla had garnered 55852 votes and had defeated Congress’ Vijendra Singh.
For 2018 polls, BJP has fielded Anirudha Madhav Maroo and Congress has fielded Umrao Singh Shivlal.

Neemuch: Neemuch Vidhan Sabha (229) is located in Neemuch district of Madhya Pradesh and comes under the Mandsour Lok Sabha constituency. In 2013 Assembly polls, BJP’s Dilipsingh Parihar had defeated Congress’ Nandkishor Patel. For 2018 polls BJP has retained Parihar while Congress has fielded Satyanarayan.

Jawad: Jawad comes under the Mandsour Lok Sabha constituency. In 2013 Assembly polls, BJP’s Om Prakash Sakhlecha had defeated Rajkumar Rameshchand Aheer. For 2018 polls, BJP has retained Om Prakash Sakhlecha and Congress has fielded Rajkumar Aheer.
