The major national parties which contested the elections were Indian National Congress (INC) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Counting of votes for the Madhya Pradesh Assembly election 2018 is underway and the trends are expected to pouring in. A single phase election for the Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly took place on November 28, 2018 amidst heavy security. The major national parties which contested the elections were Indian National Congress (INC) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Sardarpur: The constituency of Sardarpur is reserved for Scheduled Tribes (ST) candidates. In 2013, BJP’s Velsingh Bhuriya had defeated Congress’s Pratap Grewal to win the seat. For 2018 polls, both BJP and Congress have retained their candidates.
Gandhwani: The constituency of Gandhwani is also reserved for Scheduled Tribes (ST) candidates. In 2013, Congress’s Umang Singhar defeated BJP’s Sardarsingh Meda by a margin of 12,000 votes. For 2018 polls, BJP has fielded Sardarsingh Meda and Congress has nominated Umang Singhar.
Kukshi: The constituency of Kukshi is reserved for Scheduled Tribes (ST) candidates. In 2013, Congress’ Surendra Singh Baghel had defeated BJP’s Mukam Singh Kirade by a margin of 42,000 votes. For 2018 polls, BJP has fielded Virendra Baghel and Congress has retained Surendra Singh Baghel.
Manawar: This constituency is a part of Madhya Pradesh’s Dhar district. It is reserved for Scheduled Tribes (ST) candidates. In 2013, BJP’s Ranjana Baghel had defeated Congress’ Niranjan Dawar Loni by a margin of 1,600 votes. For 2018 polls, BJP has retained Ranjna Baghel and Congress has fielded Dr Hiralal Alawa.
Dharampuri: In 2018, it was Congress’ Pachilal Meda defeated BJP’s Kalu Singh by a margin in excess of 9000 votes.
Contrary to this year, in 2013, BJP’s Kalu Singh had defeated Congress’ Pachilal Meda from Dharmapuri Vidhan Sabha seat by a margin of 7,500 votes. For 2018 polls, Bharatiya Janata Party has fielded Gopal Kannoj and Congress has entrusted Panchilal Meda. Three Independent candidates Mukesh, Rupendra Singh Thakur (Chintu Bhaiya) and Shriram Dawar are also in fray.
Dhar: In 2013, BJP’s Neena Vikram Verma had defeated Congress’ Balmukund Singh Gautam by a margin of 11,000 votes. For 2018 polls, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has fielded Neena Vikram Verma and Congress has fielded Prabha Balmukundsingh Goutam. Three Independent candidates Jameela Bi, Rajesh Kumar Rathor and Sanjay Jayswal are also in the fray.
Badnawar: This is a part of Madhya Pradesh’s Dhar district. In 2018, Congress’ Raj Vardhan Singh Prem Singh Dattigaon won by a margin in excess of 21,800 defeating BJP’s Bhanwarsingh Shekhawat. In 2013, BJP’s Bhanvarsingh Shekhawat had defeated Congress’ Raj Vardhan Singh Prem Singh Dattigaon by a margin of 9,800 votes.
Dr. Ambedkar Nagar-Mhow: This constituency is a part of Madhya Pradesh’s Indore district. In 2013, BJP’s Kailash Vijayvargiya had defeated Congress’ Antar Singh Darbar by a margin of 12,000 votes. For 2018 polls, BJP has fielded Usha Thakur and Congress has fielded Antar Singh Darbar.
