New Delhi: At a time when BJP and Congress are trading charges over law and order issue in the state, former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Congress MP Jyotiraditya Scindia had raised many eyebrows with their closed-door meeting in Bhopal.
The duo reportedly met at Chouhan’s residence for over 40 minutes after which they appeared before the media and called it a ‘saujanya bhent’ (courtesy meeting).
Reports claimed that had Scindia had visited the capital city to condole the death of family members of two of his close aides. But suddenly he turned towards former CM Chouhan’s house and had a long talk with the senior BJP leader. Chouhan even came out of his residence to drop Scindia to his car.
Speaking to reporters after the meet, Scindia said,”Let bygones be bygone. I am not the person who would live life with bitterness.” Chouhan, on the other hand, maintained that it was just a ‘saujanya bhent’. “Koi gila nahin, koi shikwa nahin, (I have no complaint or grudge),” he told reporters.
Reacting over the meeting, the Bharatiya Janata Party took potshots at Congress and asserted that the meeting clearly showed Scindia was disappointed after being sidelined by the party leaders.
Notably, Scindia, was the front-runner for the CM’s post in Madhya Pradesh but the party astonished many by choosing veteran leader and Sonia Gandhi’s close aide Kamal Nath.
