Madhya Pradesh: Kidnapped Twins of Businessman Found Dead in UP River; Six Arrested

New Delhi: Bodies of two children, who were abducted from a school bus in Chitrakoot district of Madhya Pradesh were found in a river in Uttar Pradesh’s Banda on Sunday. The six-year-old twin sons of a businessman were abducted in a broad daylight on February 12 after two masked men barged into a school bus with guns. Six persons have been arrested in connection with the crime. The vehicle used in the crime has also been seized.

Police said that the kidnappers, who are at large currently, killed the boys even after receiving the ransom amount.
The Madhya Pradesh Police had announced a reward of Rs. 50,000 for any information that can help them trace the kidnappers. The Uttar Pradesh Police had also joined the search as the family live just across the border with UP.
Reacting over the incident, former Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan said,”I pay my homage to the two children. It was an unfortunate incident. We had hoped that the govt and administration would take it seriously and rescue the children. This incident shook me.”
Condemning the ghastly incident, Madhya Pradesh Law Minister PC Sharma said,”Its an unfortunate incident. The bodies were found in Uttar Pradesh and they were abducted from MP-UP border, such elements have been operating in UP. I am sure a joint op will help nab culprits.”
On being asked about Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) demand of resignation of MP Home Minister, Sharma said,”Why? Incident occurred on MP-UP border and the bodies were found in Uttar Pradesh so UP CM should resign instead.”
Meanwhile, the police have suspected involvement of a gang known as “Babuli Kol” in the incident. Notably, members of the Babuli Kol gang are wanted in several cases of murder and kidnapping.
