Bhopal: The Madhya Pradesh Police has busted an international nexus that was allegedly circulating child pornography. A 21-year-old was also arrested here with objectionable and prohibited material in his possession.
The youth’s arrest led police to a WhatsApp group where similar material was circulated. The youth, Sanjay Pal, reportedly shot pornographic material with children and shared photos and videos on the group which reportedly has 247 members across 11 countries.
The investigation has pointed to an international nexus. The operation to nab the Bhopal youth was launch by the Crime Branch of MP Police which is now confident of busting a bigger racket, possibly spread across the world.
Child pornography is prohibited around the world and shooting, viewing and circulating such videos is a violation of law.
The Supreme Court had, last year, directed the Centre to frame guidelines and a Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to eliminate child pornography, rape and gang rape imageries, videos and sites on content hosting platforms and other applications.
