Maharashtra: 7 Killed in Car Accident as Driver Loses Control on Pune-Bengaluru Highway Near Kashil Village

New Delhi: Seven family members from Karnataka’s Dharwad district died in an accident on Pune-Bengaluru Highway near Kashil village in Maharashtra, stated news agency ANI on Wednesday. Apparently, the accident occurred after the driver lost control of his car and hit a tree on Wednesday morning, suspect the Satara rural police.

The exact location of the accident was the Kolhapur-Satara stretch of the Bengaluru-Pune National Highway No 4, stated a report. Of the seven who died, three are children, two are men and two are women. While six people died on the spot, a three-year-old child who is the seventh victim succumbed to injuries at a hospital.

Police added that the condition of the driver who is currently undergoing medical treatment is critical. Meanwhile, the identities of the deceased are being verified. An investigation is underway to ascertain the actual cause of the accident.
