Gondia, Dec 21: A man has escaped the hotel building which had caught fire earlier in the day in Maharashtra’s Gondia. It is said that the fire broke out in the kitchen after a cylinder blast. 7 people are reported dead and many more are reportedly still trapped inside the building.
“Seven killed in Gondia hotel fire,” Inspector General, Gadchiroli Range, was quoted by news agency Press Trust of India.
As per the reports by NDTV, the people who have died in the fire were part of a group who had come to the city for a wedding and were staying at the hotel and only one man has been able to escape the building.

Around 15 fire tenders had rushed to the spot and efforts to douse the flames and rescue people trapped inside had immediately been started. It has been reported that the rescue team had to struggle to make their way to Bindal Palaza hotel since the hotel is in one of the busiest markets in Gondia.
The cause of the fire hasn’t been known yet. The concerned authorities have been looking into providing required medical aid. The authorities have also been looking into what caused the fire.
