However, Tiwari and Maitam besides other local activists have demanded that Todsam should be booked and arrested under the domestic violence laws, for deserting his first wife and two children and entering into wedlock with another woman without a proper settlement with the first wife.

Todsam’s wife is a primary school teacher and they have two children. The MLA is currently living with another woman, a BJP worker, but has not divorced his wife, sources close told PTI.

The video of the incident did rounds on social media.

Todsam or other local BJP functionaries could not be reached for comments.

However, a police official said no FIR or a complaint had been registered by either woman so far.

Incidentally, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to address a gathering of women self-help groups at Pandharkawda on February 16.
