Maharashtra Lok Sabha Election Phase 3 Updates: The third phase of Lok Sabha elections in Maharashtra for 11 seats, including key constituencies like Baramati, Ratnagiri-Sindhudurg, Sangli, and Kolhapur took place on May 7. With a total of 258 candidates vying for victory in these 11 constituencies, the stakes are high for all contenders. This election holds the future of several prominent figures in the balance, including NCP (SP) candidate and Sharad Pawar’s daughter, MP Supriya Sule; Maharashtra Deputy CM Ajit Pawar’s wife Sunetra Pawar; Union Minister Narayan Rane; Udayan Bhosale, a descendant of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj; and Chhatrapati Shrimant Shahu Maharaj, among others. The outcome of this phase will significantly impact the political landscape in Maharashtra. Following the third phase in Maharashtra, voting will have been completed in 283 out of the total 543 Lok Sabha seats. The subsequent four phases are scheduled for May 13, May 20, May 25, and June 1, culminating in the counting of votes on June 4. Each phase plays a crucial role in shaping the future direction of the country’s governance and leadership.

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, his wife Sunetra Pawar, who is the NCP candidate from the Baramati Lok Sabha seat, and NCP (SP) chief Sharad Pawar cast their votes in the constituency on Tuesday morning.
Polling began at 7 am for the third phase of elections in 11 of the 48 Lok Sabha seats in Maharashtra, including Baramati, where NCP (SP) head Sharad Pawar’s daughter Supriya Sule is pitted against Sunetra Pawar.
Sharad Pawar was welcomed with the traditional ‘aarti’ as he arrived at a polling booth in Malegaon area of Baramati constituency in Pune district.
The veteran politician stood in a queue before casting his vote at the booth. He later left for his Govindbaug residence near Baramati.

Maharashtra Lok Sabha Election 2024 Phase 3 LIVE: Notices to two Beed candidates over irregularities in election expenses
Election authorities have issued notice to Beed BJP candidate Pankaja Munde and NCP (SP) candidate Bajrang Sonavane over irregularities in their election expenditures, officials said.
Munde and Sonavane are contesting Lok Sabha polls from Maharashtra’s Beed constituency, which will go to polls on May 13.
BJP’s Beed candidate had provided a figure of Rs 2,73,038 as her election expenses from April 24 to May 2. However, according to the records with the expenditure inspector, the expenditure made by her in this period amounted to Rs 8,68,101, an election official said on Monday.
Irregularities of Rs 5,95,063 were found in her expenditure, the official added.
The expenditure shown by Sonavane during April 22 to May 2 is Rs 3,53,165. But the records of expenditure inspector show his expenses during this period as Rs 8,84,459, amounting to irregularities of Rs 5,31,294, the official said. (PTI)
