Thane: A fire broke out in the computer lab of Sri Ma Vidyalaya in Hiranandani Estate of Patlipada in Thane district on Monday, said news agency ANI. Evacuation measures are underway to rescue the staffs and students in the building after news of the fire on the ground floor came to notice.
Members of the Regional Disaster Management cell (RDMC), the fire brigade team and police officers reached the spot to douse the flame.
In a similar incident on December 31, 2018, a dyeing unit was gutted by fire in the powerloom town of Bhiwandi in Maharashtra.
On December 28, 2018, five persons, including four senior citizens, were killed in a major blaze that broke out at a high-rise in Tilak Nagar area of Mumbai’s Chembur. On the same day, a fire broke out in a warehouse in Thane district of Maharashtra during wee hours on Friday. Fire tenders were rushed to the spot to carry out the firefighting operations. No casualties have been reported in the incident that took place in Bhiwandi.
On October 6, 2018, six persons were injured in a fire at Sanskar Classes opposite Yes Bank at Thane’s Indira Nagar. The flames erupted following a CNG gas cylinder explosion. All the injured were rushed to a nearby hospital.
