Pune, July 6: Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasted heavy rains at isolated places in Madhya Maharashtra, Konkan and Vidarbha on Friday and Saturday. Speaking to Times of India, an IMD official said,”There is a cyclonic circulation over interior Odisha and its neighbourhood. Last month, at least five people including a woman were killed in rain-related incidents in Mumbai as heavy downpour lashed the city and its adjoining areas. In Mumbai, two people lost their lives after a tree fell on them near Metro Cinema at MG Road in Marine Lines area. A 13-year-old boy was killed in Thane after a wall collapse on their house. In Mumbai’s Malad suburb a 15-year-old boy died after falling into a manhole near Evershine Nagar. The torrential rains also hit the local train services and road traffic as the downpour led to water logging in several areas, including East Matunga, Sion, Colaba, Chembur East and Santacruz.
