Aurangabad: The grant memorial of ‘Bhagawanbaba’ statue constructed at Savargaon in Patoda taluka of Beed district will be dedicated to him on October 18 as announced by Maharashtra State Woman and Child Welfare Minister, Pankaja Munde Palve. On Monday, during a press conference, BJP State Vice President and President of Marathwada Statutory Development Board, Bhagwat Karad said that the grant memorial of Bhagawanbaba has been ready at the three-acre land in Savargaon which happens to be the birthplace of Bhagawanbaba. The statue was dedicated to him last year by Munde during the Dussehra rally, added Bhagwat Karad. The memorial contains an underground hall. The water pond in the memorial is circular with a diameter measuring 33 metres. In the middle of the pond, a 23 feet height statue of Bagwanbaba has been installed. Karad stated that a ‘Pranpratitsta’ will be performed on October 18.
Karad added that at least 10 lakh devotees from across the state and from neighbouring states are expected to attend the Dussehra rally. The traditional rally was first conducted by Gopinath Munde in Bhawangad when he became the Deputy Chief Minister in 1995.
About 40 to 50 acres of land has been allotted for parking and other basic facilities where the rally would take place. Karad stated that saints from different parts of the state were invited this year to participate in the rally with ‘Kalash’ that contains holy water of rivers and soil from different places.
