Mahesana Election Results 2017: Winners of 7 Assembly Constituencies in Mahesana District of Gujarat

In Mahesana district, out of seven assembly constituencies, the BJP won in five seats, while the Congress managed a win in only two seats.

BJP

Ahmedabad, Dec 18: The Gujarat Assembly Election 2017 results were declared on Monday. While the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) managed to win the elections with a majority, the margin of votes as compared to Congress was not much in the final tally. Out of 182 constituencies, BJP won 99 seats, the Congress won 80 seats and 3 seats went to other parties. In Mahesana district, out of seven assembly constituencies, the BJP won in five seats, while the Congress managed a win in only two seats. Following is the final result for Mahesana elections 2017:

Kadi

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) claimed the Kadi assembly seat. Its candidate Karshanbhai Punjabhai Solanki won 96651 votes. Indian National Congress candidate Chavda Rameshbhai Maganbhai was defeated as he could secure only 88905 votes.

In 2012, the Congress’s Rameshbhai Maganbhai Chavda won 84276 votes to secure the seat, while the BJP candidate Hitu Kanodiya secured 83059 votes.

Mahesana

The Mahesana assembly constituency was claimed by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Its candidate Nitinbhai Ratilal Patel won 90235 votes defeating Congress candidate Jivabhai Ambalal Patel, who secured 83098 votes.

In 2012 polls, BJP’s Nitin Patel secured 90134 votes, while the Congress’s Patel Natvarlal Pitambardas could secure only  65929 votes.

Vijapur

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) won the Vijapur assembly constituency, which was a Congress fort. Its candidate Ramanbhai Dhulabhai Patel won 72326 votes. Indian National Congress candidate Nathabhai Prabhudas Patel could secure only 71162 votes.

In 2012, BJP candidate Kantibhai Ramabhai Patel lost the seat to Congress’s Prahladbhai Ishvarbhai Patel. Congress won the seat with 70729  votes while Congress could secure 61970 votes.

Kheralu

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) won the Kheralu seat, with its candidate Dabhi Bharatsinhji Shankarji winning 59847 votes. Independent candidate Mukeshkumar Moghjibhai Desai could secure only 38432 votes.

In 2012, the BJP’s Bharatsinhji Shankarji Dabhi won 68195 votes to secure the seat, while the Congress’s Thakor Babuji Ujamji secured 49809 votes.

Unjha

Indian National Congress (INC) candidate Dr. Asha Patel won the Unjha assembly constituency. She won 81797 votes in the assembly polls and defeated Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Narayanbhai Lalludas Patel (Kaka), who managed to secure only 62268 votes.

In 2012 polls, BJP’s Narayanbhai Lalludas Patel secured 75708 votes, while the Congress’s Dr. Ashaben D. Patel could secure only  51507 votes.

Visnagar

The Visnagar assembly constituency was claimed by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Its candidate Rushikesh Ganeshbhai Patel won 77496 and retained his power. On the other hand, Congress candidate Mahendrakumar S. Patel (Mahesh Patel) secured 74627 votes.

In 2012, Congress candidate Bholabhai Chaturdas Patel lost the seat to BJP’s Rushikeshbhai Ganeshbhai Patel. BJP won the seat with 76185  votes while Congress could secure only 46786 votes.

Becharaji

The Becharaji seat was claimed by the Indian National Congress candidate Bharatji Sonaji Thakor, who won 80894 seats. Rajnikant Somabhai Patel who was the BJP candidate could secure only 65083 votes.

In 2012, BJP candidate Rajanikant Omabhai Patel won the seat with 68447 votes. On the other hand, the Congress lost this seat with its candidate Darbar Rajendrasinh Udesinhji who secured 61991 votes.
