New Delhi, April 8: A major accident was averted at the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) airport after a jet airways aircraft wing hit a truck, a news agency ANI reported. The aircraft wing got stuck under the truck on the runway.
However, timely action of the officials averted the accident. There is no information that whether passengers were on board during the incident. This is a developing story and further details are awaited in the matter.
Meanwhile, yesterday a non-scheduled flight with 344 passengers on board made an emergency landing at the T-3 terminal of Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) in Delhi. The Russia-bound aircraft from Vietnam suffered engine failure. The non-scheduled flight number ABG 8722 landed safely at 6:05 PM on runway number 1129. As many as eight fire tenders are present at the spot.
According to a report in The Outlook, the Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) spokesperson has claimed that the non-scheduled flight was going from Phu-Quoe in Vietnam to Yekaterinburg Russia.
