Major cities witness above normal temps in Bihar

Patna, Jan 23 (PTI) People of Bihar, including Patna, experienced a sunny day today while other major cities witnessed an increase in both maximum and minimum temperatures by few notches from season’s average.

Patna Meteorological Centre official said Patna, Gaya, Bhagalpur and Purnea experienced temperatures one to two degrees Celsius above normal.

They recorded temperatures three to four degrees Celsius above normal maximum temperature.

Met officials, however, said Bihar may witness partly cloudy sky after three days.

As per the Met office bulletin, Patna registered minimum temperature of 11.2 degrees Celsius against yesterday’s 9.1 degrees.

The highest maximum temperature was recorded at 26.6 degrees Celsius in Patna and Purnea. Patna’s yesterday’s maximum temperature was 25 degrees Celsius.

Forecasting a mainly clear sky tomorrow for Bihar, Met office said Patna, Gaya and Purnea may witness a little warm day tomorrow as these cities are expected to register maximum temperature of 28 degrees Celsius, while Bhagalpur may witness 27 degrees Celsius.

Similarly, the minimum temperature is also expected to rise tomorrow in these cities which may hover between 11 to 13 degrees Celsius.

Gaya recorded the minimum temperature of 9.3 degrees Celsius while Bhagalpur and Purnea registered 12.5 and 10.5 degrees Celsius, respectively.

The state’s lowest minimum temperature was recorded at 7 degrees Celsius at Sabour in Bhagalpur district, the weatherman said.
