New Delhi: If reports are to be believed, an Army Major General from Assam Rifles has been court-martialed in a case of sexual harassment. The officer has been dismissed from service without pension.
News agency ANI earlier in the day reported, “Army Chief General Bipin Rawat has confirmed the decision of a General Court Martial to dismiss a Major General from Army in connection with a sexual harassment case.”
The sexual harassment case pertains to one reported in late 2016 by a captain-rank woman officer. The alleged sexual harassment incident took place when the Major General was attached to Chandimandir under the Army’s Western Command, ANI reported.
