Bengaluru, May 10: Polling will be held in 224 constituencies of Karnataka Assembly, including Malavalli (SC), Maddur, Melukote, Mandya and Shrirangapattana Vidhan Sabha seats, on May 12. The result of election in Malavalli (SC), Maddur, Melukote, Mandya and Shrirangapattana seats will be declared on May 15. The Karnataka Assembly election 2018 is a direct fight between the ruling Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
Malavalli (SC): BJP has fielded B.Somashekhar for the Malavalli constituency while the Congress has fielded the incumbent MLA P.M.Narendraswamy. JD(S) has fielded Dr.K.Annadani for this constituency.
Maddur: In the Maddur Vidhan Sabha constituency, the Congress is fielding Madhu G Madegowda. The BJP is contesting Madduru Sathisha for the seat. JD(S) is contesting incumbent MLA D.C.Thammanna for the seat.
Melukote: BJP is fielding Sundahalli Somashekara for the Melukote seat while the JD(S) is fielding C S Puttaraju. In 2013, K.S.Ptuttanniah from SVKP won the seat for Melukote constituency.
Mandya: BJP has fielded N Shivanna for the Mandya constituency while the Congress has fielded P Ravikumar for the seat. M Srinivas is contesting from JD(S) for the seat. In 2013, M.H. Ambareesh from the Congress won the seat.
Shrirangapattana: Nanjundegowda.K. S is contesting from BJP for Shrirangapattana constituency seat while A.B.Ramesha Bandisiddegowda from the Congress is contesting for this seat. From JD(S), Ravindra Srikantaiah will be fighting for the seat. In 2013, A.B. Ramesha Bandisiddegowda from JD(S) won the Shrirangapattana seat.
