New Delhi, March 27: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is expected to meet NCP chief Sharad Pawar on Tuesday amid her strategy to form anti-BJP alliance for upcoming 2019 Lok Sabha elections.

Pawar has reportedly called a dinner meeting of all the opposition leaders, including those from the Congress, to discuss the strategy for the 2019 Lok Sabha election. This is reported to be the second big gathering after Sonia Gandhi’s dinner last week, which was attended by leaders of 19 Opposition parties.

Mamata Banerjee is also expected to meet UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi, however, when she was asked the West Bengal chief minister said,”She is hospitalised. Let her recover. I do not want to disturb her.”

A strident critic of the BJP-led central government and its policies, Banerjee had recently called for unity among all the anti-BJP forces to defeat the saffron party in the 2019 Lok Sabha election.

A few days back, the TMC chief had also met TRS president and Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, who called on her to discuss the process of setting up a federal front against the BJP-led government at the Centre.
