New Delhi, May 29: A 38-year-old man on Tuesday died onboard a Ahmedabad-Kochi flight  after he reportedly suffered a heart attack. The incident took place shortly after the take off this afternoon. As per the airport officials, the Indigo flight was heading towards Surat when the emergency was sounded. The deceased identified as Jagdish Pandya, a resident of Bhavnagar, boarded the flight from Ahmedabad to Kochi.

Pandya, who was travelling with a doctor and a group of medical marketing colleagues complained of chest pain and uneasiness as soon the flight took off. If reports are to be belived, the doctor travelling with Pandya in the flight tried to revive him by administering oxygen but his efforts were of no use as Pandya collapsed before the flight landed at Vadodara airport.

The 38-year-old medical representative was rushed to the SSG hospital in Vadodara, where he was declared brought dead.

Speaking to Indian Express, Vadodara Airport Director Charan Singh said,“The emergency landing happened at around 11:57 am. The flight was nearing Surat when it turned back to land in Vadodara. The passenger suffered from aerophobia and had already lost pulse by the time he was deplaned.”
