Ambedkar Nagar, Feb 23: Bahujan Samaj Party chief Mayawati on Thursday hit back at Bharatiya Janata Party chief Amit Shah for his ‘Kasab’ jibe. While addressing a rally in Ambedkar Nagar, Mayawati said that there was no bigger Kasab-like terrorist than Amit Shah. “Aaj apne desh mein Amit Shah se bada yahan koi aur bhi Kasab arthaat atanki nahi ho sakta hai (There is no bigger Kasab-like terrorist than Amit Shah in India,” Mayawati said.

She also said that it was very low of Amit Shah to coin the term Kasab. “Amit Shah ne jo apne virodhiyon ko Kasab ki arthaat atankiyon ki sangya di hai, wo inki ghatiya soch ko purn roop se darsata hai (Amit Shah’s Kasab remark shows his ill thinking),” said the BSP chief.

Amit Shah had on Wednesday used Kasab as an acronym for the Congress, Samajwadi Party and Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP). “Till UP doesn’t rid of KASAB, it won’t develop. ‘Ka’ stands for Congress, ‘Sa’ for Samajwadi, and ‘B’ for BSP. When the trio would be eliminated from Uttar Pradesh, then brothers and sisters, you will see how the state would climb the ladder of development,” Shah said while addressing a rally in Chauri Chaura.

He also claimed that the Samajwadi Party distributed laptops on the basis of caste. “They will ask your religion and caste first, if that doesn’t seem favourable to them, they won’t give you laptop,” he had said.

The Congress called Shah a ‘failed leader’ for using terrorist Ajmal Kasab’s name to describe the party, the SP and the BSP. “Only a failed leader can use such derogatory and cheap language,” Congress leader Randeep Surjewala told ANI.

Congress leader Abhishek Manu Singhvi also hit out at Shah and said that it was violation of the model code of conduct, adding that BJP president’s statement shows the communal mindset of the saffron party. “We need to end acronyms. Through Amit Shah’s statement BJP’s repulsive thinking is brought out. It shows party’s communal mindset which is reprehensible It was a clear violation of the model code of conduct. It was a violation of rule and law,” Singhvi told ANI.

Earlier this month, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had also coined ‘SCAM’ for SP, Congress, Akhilesh and Mayawati, and dubbed BSP as ‘Behenji Sampatti Party’.
