New Delhi, April, 18: Madipur Ward, located in South Delhi and the (ward number 1) is among one of the ward of 272 wards of Delhi Municipal corporation. Madipur ward is reserved for scheduled caste women candidates. Madipur election is scheduled on 23rd April 2017 and result will be announced on 26th April 2017. The Delhi MCD election 2017 would featured an electoral battle for 272 wards administered by three municipal bodies — South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC), North Delhi Municipal Corporation (NDMC), East Delhi Municipal Corporation (EDMC).
For voting in Madipur ward, the total population is 48748 and in that 28.018 are from the scheduled caste community. Candidates for SC-W ward are Jai Shree Jalutharia from Aam Aadmi Party, Sunita Kumar from Indian National Congress and Sunitha Kangra from Bharatiya Janata Party for MCD 2017.

In 2012 Delhi (MCD) election BJP garbed 142 seats from total 272 from all three corporation where Congress, BSP, Others reserved 77, 15, 35 seats respectively.

In South municipal corporation BJP managed to win 44 seats from 104 seats. This time BJP is contesting the election with fresh faces, so many of old contentions had not been provided the tickets fro MCD election 2017.
