New Delhi: As Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is heading towards a landslide victory in Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) Elections 2017, posters have been put up outside party headquarters dedicating MCD win to 25 CRPF jawans, who lost their lives in recent Sukma encounter. Addressing a press conference after the results, Bharatiya Janata Party leader Sambit Patra said that they won’t celebrate this win following the Sukma ambush.
The poster features Prime Minister Narendra Modi, party president Amit Shah and Delhi BJP chief Manoj Tiwari along with a slain CRPF soldier. The poster also has a caption on it which reads, “Sukma saheedo ko samarpit hai yeh jeet. Maa tujhe salam. . (This victory is dedicated to Sukma martyrs. Maa tujhe salam).”
Earlier on Monday, at least 25 jawans of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) were killed in an encounter with the Naxal militants in Sukma district of Chhattisgarh. The deceased jawans were members of the 74th battalion of CRPF. One among the deceased was also an Inspector-rank officer.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has won the Delhi municipal corporations for the third time in a row by bagging a total of 178 seats. Reacting on the result of MCD Elections, Aam Aadmi Part leader Gopal Rai hit out at PM Modi and said that it is not Narendra Modi wave but EVM wave. AAP has got only 40 seats in MCD elections 2017.
