New Delhi, May 9: Mumbai Sessions Court pronounced the two accused in actress Meenakshi Thapa’s murder case guilty today and is likely to deliver its verdict for this gruesome murder case tomorrow. The two accused in the Meenakshi Thapa murder case, namely, Amit Kumar Jaiswal and Preeti Surin were found guilty by Mumbai Sessions Courtunder various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Information Technology (IT) Act. Reportedly, the punishment and the quantum of sentence will be out tomorrow.
Meenakshi Thapa who was an aspiring actor met her perpetrators Jaiswal and Surin on the sets of Madhur Bhandarkar’s film Heroine. Thapa who had come to Mumbai from Dehradun became the accused’s target after she told them that she came from a rich and affluent family. Both Jaiswal and Surin who too aspired to make it big in Bollywood, made a plan of kidnapping Thapa and then demanding a ransom from her mother. The duo took Thapa to Uttar Pradesh on March 13, 2012 on the bsis of a modelling assignment and beheaded Thapa in her father’s quarter.
