Mumbai, June 12: Monsoon is one of the most awaited seasons in India and many parts of India including Mumbai are finally enjoying Monsoon showers. Monsoon gave respite from the blistering summer heat to the resident of Mumbai as rains arrived on Monday, after a short delay. As per Skymet Weather, during the next 24 hours, good rains will continue over Mumbai and adjoining areas.
Not only this, Southwest Monsoon has also reached a few parts of Gujarat and the Northern Limit of Monsoon is passing through Valsad, Nashik, Parbhani, Adilabad, Narsapur, Paradip, Digha, Kolkata, and Krishnanagar. Monsoon has also covered parts of Madhya Maharashtra including Pune and Nashik.
Heavy rainfall was witnessed in most parts of West Coast including Maharashtra, Karnataka, Assam, Bihar, and Kerala. At present, Harnai in Maharashtra is the place receiving the most rainfall in India with 143 mm.
Monsoon had arrived in Kerala earlier this month and covered parts of Karnataka, Maharashtra earlier this month. Meanwhile, pre-monsoon showers were also witnessed in Delhi and other parts of North India earlier last week. While Monsoon now covers Maharashtra, it is likely to cover all of India by the end of this month or the beginning of July. The Met department has predicted that Monsoon may reach Delhi and parts of North India by July 1.
