Moradabad Election Results 2017: Who is winning from Kanth, Thakurdwara, Kundarki and other constituencies
Moradabad district is one of the important districts for Samajwadi Party, BSP and BJP and all the parties campaigned aggressively in the state.
Lucknow, March 11: Polling in Moradabad district took place in the second phase of the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections 2017 on February 15. The total voter turnover in the second phase of Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections was around 66 percent.
Moradabad district is the second most populous district of Uttar Pradesh and the district consists of six assembly constituencies which include Kanth, Thakurdwara, Moradabad Rural, Moradabad Nagar, Kundarki and Bilari assembly constituencies. A four-cornered battle is being fought in Muradabad between the Samajwadi Party–Congress alliance, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) and Rashtriya Lok Dal.
Moradabad district is one of the important districts for Samajwadi Party, BSP and BJP and all the parties campaigned aggressively in the state. Also known as the ‘brass city’, Moradabad will decide the fate of candidates on March 11.
In the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections of 2017, all the parties campaigned aggressively and are claiming the victory in the state. While Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav and Rahul Gandhi campaigned for Congress-Samajwadi Party alliance, BSP supremo Mayawati did the campaigning for BSP. With the aim of repeating the 2014 general election results, Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with several of his union ministers did the campaigning for BJP in the state.
The exit polls released on Thursday have claimed BJP to have an edge over the other parties in the state. While an average of all the polls have projected BJP to win around 215 seats, the alliance of Samajwadi Party and Congress are expected to be in the second position with the alliance emerging victorious in 121 seats. The exit polls have projected BSP to be at the third spot with the party bagging 61 seats in Uttar Pradesh Assembly.
