CSP Lasudiya, Indore, Pankaj Dixit, said,” We got a report that the class 7 student was made to dance and give a massage to his seniors in a school hostel. One of the accused is a minor; we’ve registered a case under POCSO Act.”

Last year, 52 students of a medical college in Saharanpur district of Uttar Pradesh were suspended from class for one month and from the hostel for six months after complaints of ragging against them were found true. Arvind Trivedi, principal of Shaikh-Ul-Hind Maulana Mahmood Hasan Medical College, Saharanpur, confirmed the students had been suspended.

He said the students of the 2016-2017 batch had beaten up and cut the hair of their juniors. He said complaints against the students by their juniors were found true by the anti-ragging committee.

Yet earlier, a Class X girl student of a boarding school in Dehradun was allegedly gang-raped by four students of Class XII of the same school. The four accused minors, along with five staff members, including the director and principal of the school, were arrested under the POCSO Act.

The shocking incident came to light when the victim told her sister, studying in the same school, about the incident and told her that she was one-month pregnant.

Following the revelation, the school management allegedly tried to hush up the matter. An official of the school management told Zee News that the students and staff were busy in preparations of Independence Day when the accused minors executed the shameful act on August 14. He admitted that the school management did not tell the police about the incident.

The school’s CBSE affiliation was cancelled for keeping the incident under the wraps.
