Bhopal: A 48-year-old police sub-inspector on Sunday reportedly committed suicide by hanging himself at his official residence in Jhaknawada village in Madhya Pradesh’s Jhabua district. The deceased sub-inspector named Bhagirath Baghel was in charge of Jhaknawada Police station located in Petlawad Tehsil of Jhabua. The ASP reportedly said,” He (Bhagirath Baghel) had hanged himself. We have recovered suicide note from his pocket in which he has written that he had no problems with anyone.”

Baghel hailed from Khargone district. He had been serving as the in-charge of Jhaknawada police outpost for the last six months. District superintendent of police Vineet Jain said, “Baghel was found hanging from the roof of his residence Sunday morning.”

The officer said prima facie Baghel climbed on a cooking gas cylinder after having his dinner and hanged himself using a rope. He was living alone. The SP said, “As Baghel didn’t turn up for duty this morning, police personnel tried to contact him on his mobile phone but their calls remained unanswered.” The officer added that when some personnel went to Baghel’s residence they found him hanging.

Meanwhile, police are yet to ascertain the reason behind the incident.

In yet another incident on June 21, a Class 10 girl student was found dead in the school toilet in Kolkata with her wrist slashed and a plastic bag over her head. Reports stated that the victim was allegedly under tremendous pressure. A ‘suicide’ note was recovered from the school bathroom where she was found lying in a pool of blood. The contents of the note pointed out the troubled mental health of the teenager.
