Mumbai: Locals held a protest on Saturday outside the Juhu police station after a body of a 9-year-old girl was found in a drain in Juhu’s Nehru Nagar in Mumbai. Additional CP Manoj Sharma said, “The protesting locals are demanding justice. The man accused has been arrested. The investigation will be done from all angles.”
Police added that the case will be investigated from multiple angles. The locals were demanding justice for the girl, said the police.
In yet another incident on February 7, a five-year-old girl was found dead at Mahim in Central Mumbai. Police stated that the victim who was abducted by an unidentified person was also sexually assaulted. The girl was abducted around 3.00 AM from LJ Road in Mahim when she was asleep along with her family members in their roadside shanty, a police official said. Her father, a labourer, noticed that she was missing when he woke up and lodged a police complaint.
