Mumbai: The body of an aspiring model was found inside a travelling bag kept on the roadside in Mumbai’s Malad on Monday. Police have arrested a19-year-old boy in connection with the murder.Also Read - 9 Members Of Family Test COVID Positive In Jaipur, Samples Sent For Genome Sequencing

“Under Bangur Nagar police station limits, the body of a woman was found inside a suitcase. On the basis of evidence, we have arrested a 19-year-old man who is a resident of Hyderabad. Further investigation is underway,” SP Nishandar, DCP Zone -11, told ANI. The accused Muzammil had apparently killed the woman with a heavy object after they quarrelled at his residence in Andheri. A preliminary report also said that the accused then stuffed the dead body in a suitcase and booked an Ola cab. Muzammil asked the driver to stop at the back road of Mindspace in Malad West and got off saying that he would take a rickshaw to cover the remaining distance. He then dumped the bag near a bush.

Later, the Ola driver spotted the bag while travelling on the same route. The driver immediately brought the matter to the notice of the police. Following which, the police took the accused in the cusotody within four hours of the alert.

A forensic team was also rushed to the spot. The body was taken for a postmortem.

Meanwhile, a further probe has also been launched into the matter.
