New Delhi: A Mumbai-based businessman was arrested on the charges of raping a 27-year-old model-turned-actress. Amit Agarwal was taken in the police custody on April 14, after the woman reached out to the cops, TOI reported. As per the report, the man blackmailed and abused the woman. He had allegedly spiked the woman’s drink and shot a clip of two in an intimate position, which Agarwal used to blackmail and physically abuse her. The woman reached out to the police after learning that Agarwal had sent the clip to his friends. According to a report, the woman met Agarwal at an event in Mumbai. Soon, they got into a relationship and began to live together. In 2017, the woman discovered the video of both in an intimate act together. Later, when things began to go downhill between the duo, the man started physically assaulting her. She left for her hometown in Uttar Pradesh. “Last year, I returned to Mumbai after getting engaged to a lawyer,” the woman told the leading news daily. However, when Agarwal got to know the woman has returned, he started threatening her. He threatened the woman to malign her name by circulating the MMS clip on social media. The woman gave in to the man’s demand. It was only when she learnt that the video has already been circulated, she approached the police.
