Mumbai, June 10: In a shocking incident, a couple was spotted in a compromising position on a divider at Nariman Point in South Mumbai’s Marine Drive. The bizarre incident which took place on Friday was captured by the passerby. While people were shooting the video of the indecent act, someone alerted the Mumbai Police Control Room (PCR) and within minutes, a police van arrived on the spot.
The couple got up and crossed the road by the time police van arrived. While the woman was caught by the police and taken to the station, the man in question, who was a foreign national managed to escape.
The police interrogation revealed that the woman was ‘mentally unstable’ in nature. As per police reports, the woman was unable to tell her address or contact number. DCP Manoj Kumar Sharma confirmed the same as the woman initially told them that she belonged to Goa and later changed her statement. Furthermore he stated that the woman was unable to give proper answers. After much questioning, she has been sent to a remand home, Mahila Suraksha Kendra in Chembur. However, the police have not yet pressed any charges against the woman and the foreign national.
The incident which took place just a small distance from the Maharashtra state government headquarters, is being investigated by the police.
Officials are also scanning the CCTV footage in the area to nab the unidentified foreign national who was involved in the indecent act. From checking local hotels and Foreigners Regional Registration Office for his identity, cops are reportedly tracing every little information of the man.
