Mumbai: Jaguar Rams Ten Vehicles, Leaves Four People Injured; Driver Arrested

Mumbai, July 24: A speeding Jaguar hit four people, injuring them and rammed vehicles in Mumbai’s Versova on Monday evening. Ten cars were damaged as the speeding Jaguar went out of control and slammed into them. The driver of the luxury car was allegedly drunk. The incident was reported from Versova in Mumbai’s Andheri suburb around 7.30 PM and was recorded on a CCTV camera. Media reports said the driver was identified as Hitesh Golecha. Golecha reportedly tried to escape but the crowd managed to stop his car. He was dragged out of the car and reportedly roughed up before being handed over to the police. PTI reported that the crowd even damaged his car. Golecha has been arrested.

Only last month, a couple and their family friend were killed after their car rammed a stationary truck from behind on the Mongolpuri flyover in outer Delhi. The incident took place on the intervening night of June 23 and 24, police said. Harvinder Madan (52), his wife Bharti (50), Satya Ranjan (50), a homeopathic doctor and their family friend, and another man Gurvinder Singh (42) were returning to Delhi from Punjab’s Firozpur after a visit to a religious place, the police said. When they reached Mongolpuri flyover, their car hit the truck that was parked on the downslope of the flyover. The truck’s lights were not on and the car driver could not see it in the night, they said.
