New Delhi: The Central Railways will be conducting mega block on Sunday, October 21, on the three railway lines – Central, Harbour, and Western. To avoid inconvenience to the passengers, the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has released the schedule of changes in the operations of the local trains. Reportedly, the local train services on the Up and Down fast line and Up and Down slow line will be affected due to the block on all the three lines in Mumbai. The Central Railway spokesperson has informed that on mainline the block will be held between Thane to Kalyan (downline) between 10:30 am and 3:30 pm. To carry out maintenance work of tracks, signalling, and overhead equipment, a jumbo block will be taken on Up and Dn slow lines between Borivali and Andheri stations from 10.35 hrs to 14.35 hrs on Sunday. During the block, all Up and Dn fast line trains will run on Up and Dn slow lines between Borivali and Andheri stations.
Meanwhile, special local trains will run on Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus – Vashi section and services will be available on Thane-Vashi/Nerhul during the block period.
No suburban local trains will be operational on Western Railway and Central Railway’s main as well as harbour line during the mega maintenance block and the commuters are advised to plan their commute beforehand.
