Mumbai: Local train services between Titwala and Kasara stations affected on Friday morning following a public protest which was reported at Vasind. The CPRO Central Railway said that the suburban trains have been running up to Titwala only. The agitation began after Kasara section rail line halted after tower wagon ‘Vaitarna’ derailed during night maintenance between Asangaon-Kasara.

“We appeal our esteemed Commuters to desist from such agitations as this will only prolong the restoration work which will now go up to 10-11 AM,” the Central Railway tweeted, adding, “It’s because of derailment of maintenance tower wagon near Kasara and subsequent agitation at Vasind station. Inconvenience is deeply regretted.” More details are awaited.

According to the recent reports, the agitation at the Vasind station has now ended. Mail Express train movement has started on single line for Up and Down direction, news agency ANI reported.

Last week, Mumbai local train services were hit on Harbour line due to a technical glitch near Wadala. After the train stopped midway, the passengers ended up walking on the tracks to cover their distances. The passengers, according to the reports, were stuck at the Chuna Bhati station for 45 minutes.
