Mumbai: Local Trains Delayed in Sion Due to Track Fracture

A similar incident was reported two days back when more than twelve trains were delayed by several hours due to foggy weather conditions.

Mumbai: Local trains bound to Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus railway station were delayed in Sion, Mumbai, owing to a track fracture on Wednesday.  A technical snag was detected at Sion railway station on Central Line. All the Kalyan-bound fast local trains were reportedly diverted on the slow line owing to the snag.

A tweet by Mumbai Live on Wednesday said, “Cracks develop on tracks at Sion railway station. CSTM bound trains affected.”

A similar incident was reported two days back when more than twelve trains were delayed by several hours due to foggy weather conditions.

In yet another incident on December 1, 2018, all the Up direction trains heading towards Mumbai were delayed by about 1 hour 30 minutes due to the derailment of a tamping machine. The TTM derailed between Palghar and Kelwa Road stations.
