Mumbai Mega Block: The local train services in the maximum city will remain affected on Sunday, April 28 as a mega block and jumbo block is being carried out on the Central Line, Harbour Line and the Western Line by the Indian Railways. In the wake of the same, the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has issued an advisory informing people about the Mumbai local train schedule.
On the Central Line, all Up fast line services leaving Kalyan from 10.37 am to 3.06 pm have been diverted on Up slow line between Diva and Parel stations. These trains will will arrive destination 20 minutes behind schedule and halt at all stations up to Parel and further re-diverted on Up fast line.
Moreover, the Down fast/semi fast local train services leaving CSMT between 10.05 am to 3.22 pm will halt at Ghatkopar, Vikhroli, Bhandup, Mulund and Diva stations in addition to their respective scheduled halts and arrive destination 20 minutes behind schedule. Further, all slow line services leaving/arriving CSMT between 11.00 am and 6.00 pm will arrive destination 10 minutes behind schedule.
The Central Railways local train services on the Up and Down Harbour line will remain suspended between Wadala Road and Mankhurd Station during the mega block period. The Down harbour line services leaving CSMT from 10.34 am to 03.44 pm to Panvel/Belapur/Vashi and Up harbour line services leaving from Panvel/Belapur/Vashi from 10.21 am to 03.47 pm have been suspended. However, special trains services have been made operational on Panvel-Mankhurd-Panvel section during the block period. Also, the passengers of the Harbour Line are permitted to travel via Trans-Harbour/Main Line from 10.00 am to 4.30 pm.
On the Western Line, a Jumbo block of five hours is under operation. It began at 10.35 am and is expected to continue till 15.35 pm on Up and Down slow lines between Borivali and Andheri stations for maintenance of tracks, signalling and overhead equipment. During the block all Up and Down slow line trains will run on Up and Down fast lines between Santacruz and Borivali stations, availing double halt at Vile Parle. These trains will not halt at Ram Mandir station. Further, no trains will run from Platform Number 1, 2, 3, and 4 at Borivali station during the block period.
The Mumbai Mega Block is carried out almost on all Sundays for the maintenance of infrastructure and safety of railway tracks.
