Mumbai Mega Block Latest News: The Mumbai local train services on Central Line and Harbour Line will remain affected for at least six hours on Sunday, December 16. The local trains will not operate between Masjid and Sandhurst Road stations during the block period. Meanwhile, the Western Line witnessed a jumbo block for five hours on Up fast lines and 5th line between Matunga Road and Mumbai Central (Local) stations during during the intervening night of December 15, 16 from 11.45 PM to 03.45 AM.
The Central Railway will carry a special traffic and power block for six hours on the Central Line between 10.30 AM to 4.30 PM on Sunday for launching of 3 girders for foot over bridge at Masjid station (Mumbai end) by 140 T crane. Due to the block, the local train services on Up and Down slow lines between Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) and Byculla stations will remain affected.
Due to the mega block on Central Line, the last Down train on slow line will leave CSMT for Kalyan at 10.14 AM and for Byculla at 10.22 AM. Meanwhile, the last Up train on slow line will leave Byculla at 09.50 AM and arrive CSMT at 09.59 AM. Furthermore, Up and Down slow suburban services will be diverted on fast line between Byculla and CSMT, while suburban services will be available between Vadala Road and Panvel and Vadala Road-Bandra/Goregaon stations at an approximate interval of 15 minutes.
On the Harbour Line, a special traffic and power block on Up and Down line between CSMT and Vadala Road from 10.30 AM to 16.30 PM. Due to this, the last Down train on Harbour Line will be leaving CSMT for Panvel at 10.10 AM and Vadala Road at 10.28 AM. Last Up train on harbour line will be leaving Vadala Road 09.52 AM and arrive CSMT at 10.10 AM. Furthermore, Up and Down suburban services on harbour line will not be available between CSMT and Vadala Road stations.
The Central Railway and Western Railway conduct Mumbai Mega Block on most of the Sundays for the maintenance works of rail racks and other related works.
