On Western Line, a Jumbo Block of four hours will be taken from 11.00 AM to 3 PM today on Up and Down fast lines between Borivali and Bhayandar stations for the maintenance of track, singling and overhead equipment.During the block period, all UP fast trains will run on ‘Up Slow Line’ between Virar/Vasai Road to Borivali and all Down fast trains will run on ‘Down Slow Line’ from Borivali to Vasai Road/Virar. The Harbour Line will carry block for nearly 5 hours. Down (Dn) Harbour line services to Panvel/Belapur/Vashi leaving CSMT Mumbai from 10.34 AM to 3.08 PM and Up Harbour line services for CSMT Mumbai leaving Panvel/Belapur/Vashi from 10.21 AM to 3.00 PM will remain suspended. Due to the mega block on the Central Line, Up slow line services leaving Thane from 10.37 AM to 3.31 PM will be diverted on Up fast line between Mulund and Matunga stations halting at Mulund, Bhandup, Vikhroli, Ghatkopar, Kurla and Sion stations and further re-diverted to Up slow line proper at Matunga station.

Up fast/semi fast services leaving Kalyan from 11.04 AM to 3.06 PM will halt at Diva, Mulund, Bhandup, Vikhroli, Ghatkopar and Kurla stations in addition to their respective scheduled halts and arrive destination 15 minutes behind schedule.

Last week as well, the local train services in Mumbai were affected for at least six hours. The Central Railway carried a special traffic and power block for six hours on the Central Line between 10.30 AM to 4.30 PM last Sunday (Dec 16) for launching of 3 girders for foot over bridge at Masjid station (Mumbai end) by 140 T crane. Due to the block, the local train services on Up and Down slow lines between Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) and Byculla stations remained affected, leaving passengers in trouble.
