Mumbai Mega Block Latest News: The Mumbai Local Train services on Harbour Line will remain affected till 5 PM on February 24, Sunday, in the wake of the mega block which is conducted almost on every Sunday by the Central Railway and Western Railway for the maintenance works of rail racks and other related works.
To avoid inconvenience for the passengers, the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has announced a detailed plan explaining the operation of Mumbai Local Trains on the Harbour Line.
The Local Trains operation on Down Harbour Line to Vashi/ Belapur/ Panvel leaving Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) and Vadala Road between 11.34 AM to 4.23 PM and Down Harbour Line to Bandra/Andheri/Goregaon leaving CSMT from 9.56 AM to 4.16 PM will remain suspended.
Furthermore, the Up Harbour Line services for CSMT leaving Panvel/Belapur/Vashi from 9.53 AM to 2.44 PM and Up Harbour Line local trains leaving Bandra/Andheri/Goregaon from 10.45 AM to 4.58 PM will remain suspended.
The operation of Special Trains has been made available between Panvel and Kurla during the block period. Also, the Harbour line passengers are permitted to travel via Main Line and Western Railway from 10.00 AM to 6.00 PM during block period.
As the suburban trains are likely to be more crowded than usual, the IRCTC has requested the passengers not to take any risks while travelling. They are also requested to avoid travelling on foot board, roof top of Mumbai Local Trains and not to board extremely over crowded trains.
Mumbai Mega Block was carried out on the Central Line as well, earlier in the day. A notification on the same was also issued by the IRCTC.
