Mumbai Mega Block Latest News: The Mumbai Local Train services on Central Line will remain affected for at least over four hours on Sunday, January 27, due to the Mumbai Railways Mega Block. During the block period, the Down slow line local trains services will not be available at Vidyavihar, Kanjur Marg and Nahur stations.
While, no mega block has been announced on the Harbour Line, the Western Line witnessed a Jumbo block of three hours from 11.50 PM to 2.50 AM on Up fast line during the intervening night of January 26, 27. There was also a block from 1.30 AM to 4.30 AM on Down fast line between Vasai Road and Vaitarana stations.
On Western Line, during the block, the Up and Down Mail and Express trains were delayed by at least 15 minutes. MEMU 69149 departed at 4.40 AM from Virar following a delay of 40 minutes.
Meanwhile, on Central Line, the Down slow line services leaving Matunga from 10.57 AM to 3.52 PM will be diverted on Down fast line between Matunga and Mulund stations halting at Sion, Kurla, Ghatkopar, Vikhroli, Bhadup and Mulund stations.
Besides, the Down slow line services will not be available at Vidyavihar, Kanjur Marg and Nahur stations. However, the passengers of these trains are allowed to travel via Ghatkopar, Bhadup and Mulund stations.
The Up fast and semi fast local trains leaving Kalyan from 10.54 AM to 3.06 PM will halt at Diva, Mulund, Bhandup, Vikhroli, Ghatkopar and Kurla stations in addition to their respective scheduled halts. Following this, there will be a delay of 15 minutes in their scheduled arrival at the destination.
The Down fast and semi fast local trains leaving Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) from 10.48 AM to 3.40 PM will halt at Ghatkopar, Vikhroli, Bhandup, Mulund and Diva stations in addition to their respective schedule halts. These trains will arrive at their respective destinations by at least 20 minute behind schedule.
Furthermore, all Down and Up slow local trains leaving and arriving at CSMT between 11.00 AM and 5.00 PM will arrive at their destinations 10 minute behind the schedule.
The Central Railway and Western Railway conduct Mumbai Mega Block on most of the Sundays for the maintenance works of rail racks and other related works.
