Mumbai Mega Block Latest News: The Mumbai Local Train services will remain affected on the Central Line, Harbour Line and Western Line for over four hours on Sunday, March 3. Hence, the passengers are advised to check the Mumbai local trains schedule before stepping out of their houses. While, the operation of local trains on Central and Harbour Line will suffer due to a 4-hour mega block, the passengers on the Western Line will have to face problems for 5 hours due to a Jumbo Block for the maintenance of track, signalling and over equipment.
As per a Central Railway spokesperson quoted by The Times of India, the block will affect the Mumbai local train services on Central Line’s Up Fast Line between Mulund and Matunga between 11.15 AM to 3.15 PM. Meanwhile, the operation of local trains on Harbour Line will remain affected between Kurla and Vashi from 11.10 AM till 3.15 PM. However, the confirmation of the same has not been made by the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC). Till the time of filing this report, the IRCTC claimed that no Mega Block has been announced on Central and Harbour Line.
As far as the block on Western Line is concerned, the Western Railway has announced a Jumbo Block from 10.35 AM till 3.35 PM on March 3 on Up and Down Slow Lines between Santacruz and Goregaon stations. During the block period, all local trains will run on Fast Lines between the two stations. Some services are also expected to remain cancelled.
On the other hand, all Slow Line local train services on Western Line will witness a double halt at Vile Parle station on Platform Number 5 and 6 on the Fast Corridor. Passengers are requested to note that during the 5-hour block, the local trains will not halt at Ram Mandir station in either direction due to non availability of platform.
Notably, the Central Railway and Western Railway carry out Mega Block on almost every Sunday for the maintenance works of rail racks and other related works.
