Mumbai Mega Block on March 31 Latest News: Local Train Services on Central, Harbour Lines to Remain Hit For Over 5 Hours

Mumbai mega block on Central Line, Western Line and Harbour Line is carried out almost on every Sunday for the maintenance of infrastructure and safety.

Mega Block Latest News: The Mumbai Local Train services on Central Line and Harbour Line will remain affected for over five hours on March 31, Sunday. Due to this, the passengers are likely to face inconvenience. An advisory issued by Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) urged the people to avoid routes where the mega block to maintain the infrastructure and safety will be carried out. Travellers are also advised to check the Mumbai Local Train schedule before stepping outside of their homes.

On the Central Line, the Down Slow/ Semi fast local trains leaving Mulund station from 10.47 am to 3.50 pm will be diverted o­n Down Fast line between Mulund and Kalyan stations. These trains will halt at Thane, Diva and Dombivli stations and arrive destination 10 minutes behind schedule. On Up fast and Semi fast line, trains leaving Kalyan from 10.37 am to 3.06 pm will halt at Diva, Mulund, Bhandup, Vikhroli, Ghatkopar and Kurla stations in addition to their respective scheduled halts and arrive destination 15 minutes behind schedule beyond.

Down fast/Semi fast local trains leaving CSMT Mumbai from 09.18 am to 2.54 pm will halt at Ghatkopar, Vikhroli, Bhandup, Mulund and Diva stations in addition to their respective scheduled halts and will arrive destination 20 minutes behind schedule.

Besides, dismantling of Foot Over Bridge at Kasara-End of Kalyan Station will also be carried out during the block period. Due to this, all Down and Up slow locals leaving or arriving at CSMT from 10.30 am to 5.00 pm will reach their destination 15 minutes behind schedule.

On Harbour Line, local trains on Down Line to Vashi / Belapur /Panvel leaving CSMT Mumbai/Vadala Road from 11.34 am to 4.23 pm and Down Harbour line services to Bandra/Goregaon leaving CSMT Mumbai from 9.56 am to 4.16 pm will remain suspended.

Further, the Up line local train services for CSMT Mumbai leaving Panvel/Belapur/Vashi from 9.53 am to 2.44 pm and Up line services for CSMT Mumbai leaving Goregaon/Bandra from 10.45 am to 4.58 pm will remain suspended.

Special services will run between Panvel and Kurla (Platform Number 8) during the block period. During the block period, Harbour line passengers are permitted to travel via Main Line and Western Railway from 10.00 am to 6.00 pm.

On the Western Line, the local train services will operate as per normal routine as no day block is scheduled, informed IRCTC.
