Mumbai Rains: Mumbai and parts of Maharashtra have been witnessing incessant rains for the last five days. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a heavy rainfall alert for the financial capital for the next 24 hours. Maharashtra’s capital city has been reeling under intense showers since Saturday. The heavy downpour has brought the city’s life to a halt. According to the weekly forecast issued by the weather department, Mumbai will receive heavy rainfall till August 21, Thursday.

According to the reports, local train services on both the Western and Central Railway are operational with slight delays reported after a heavy downpour in the city.

Are offices open today in Mumbai?

Mumbai is expected to receive heavy rainfall today. However, it is important to note that the BMC has not issued any order regarding office closures.

Mumbai records 159 mm rainfall in 24 hours, eastern suburbs wettest

From 8 am on August 19 to 6 am on August 20, the city recorded an average rainfall of 131.51 mm in South Mumbai, 159.66 mm in the Eastern Suburbs, and 150.60 mm in the Western Suburbs. The IMD has recorded the highest rainfall at Vikhroli (223.5 mm), followed by Santacruz (206.6 mm), Byculla (184 mm), Juhu (148.5 mm), Bandra (132.5 mm) and Colaba (100.2 mm); radar animation indicated moderate to intense convection over the city.
