Mumbai: Rain, along with thunderstorm on Wednesday hit several parts of Mumbai, bringing respite from the hot weather in the city. Neighbouring places such as Vashi and Kharghar also witnessed rains, TOI reported. Meanwhile, the Air Quality Index in the city also improved to 181, reports said. Notably, An AQI of 101-200 is moderate, however, people who have health concerns might have to take care. Earlier, AQI was recorded to be over 200 which falls under the poor category and can pose as a warning. Earlier on September 27, heavy rains accompanied with thunderstorm and lightning lashed several parts of Mumbai. A major impact of the rains was seen in Navi Mumbai, Central Mumbai, and South Mumbai. Waterlogging was reported from several areas including Nepean Sea Road and Lower Parel. Many regions are also witnessing power cuts due to the rains. Mumbaikars took to Twitter to report about traffic jams, waterlogging and also to rejoice the return of rains in the maximum city. For some, the rains were similar to the onset of monsoon while others felt relieved with the change in weather.
