New Delhi: At least two people were killed after a level-2 fire broke out on 10th and 11th floor in Kadam Chawl SRA building, near Oberoi Tower on Vira Desai road in Maharashtra, news agency ANI reported on Tuesday. The incident took place around 8:30 pm in Andheri. The cause of the fire has not been ascertained yet and there are no reports of any casualty. The firefighting operations are still underway.
In a similar incident, a Level 2 fire broke out in a bamboo godown located at the Navpada area of Andheri in Maharashtra on November 6. Fire tenders were rushed to the spot to douse the flames.

On June 9 this year, 16 fire engines, 11 tankers, and 150 fire officers were deployed to douse the fire that broke out in Patel Chambers in Mumbai. The level-4 fire caused injuries to two fire tenders earlier that morning when parts of the Patel Chambers collapsed.
In August, four persons were killed and several others severely injured after a massive fire broke out in a multi-storey building in Mumbai’s Parel area. The fire broke out in Crystal Tower, situated near Hindmata Cinema in Parel. The fire brigade control room got a message about the blaze on the 12th floor of the 17-storeyed residential building, at 8.32 am, an official said.
In December last year, 14 people died in a massive fire at two rooftop pubs in Kamala Mills Compound in central Mumbai.
